Description

We transitioned from a Dreamweaver site to a Drupal platform in May 2010 and I am still tweaking, tweaking, tweaking!

Modules used

We chose to purchase a theme with alot of the modules included. I have added additional ones to help customize the site to our liking. Among others, here are some of the modules we are currently using:

  • addthis - for sharing at the bottom of each page
  • admin-menu - simplifies the administrative process
  • backup-migrate - so that I would have a daily back-up
  • calendar - we have an events calendar and a meeting rooms calendar
  • captcha - for submission forms
  • cck - works well with views
  • ckeditor - makes entering content more user friendly
  • collapsiblock - although this doesn't seem to work on our site
  • dynamic display block - Top Stories on homepage
  • imce - in collaboration with ckeditor
  • import_html - we import new arrivals from Innovative/Millenium each month
  • mobile_tools - to recognize mobile devices for the mobile site
  • nokia_mobile - our mobile theme
  • themekey - I plan to create different themes for Teen and Children's departments
  • views - calendars
  • webform - Summer Reading registration
  • webform_report - to categorize and print registrations for Summer Reading

Of course, I will probably be adding other modules that I think would be beneficial to us such as, print, adjustisearch, panels, Drush, etc.
